More than thirty years in IT, from small businesses to large corporations, with my time at SBB shaping me the most. Today I'm an architect at Zooey, a small crew with short lines, plenty of freedom, and projects with real weight to them.

I work hands-on, because you only notice what's needlessly complicated once you start building. Clever solutions make me suspicious; simple ones win me over. The systems I work on have either grown over years or are only just taking shape. Either way it comes down to the same question: which decisions get expensive later, and which ones sort themselves out.

I've worked with language and vision models, not just read about them: retrieval, fine-tuning, agents. I need that to judge where AI is load-bearing and where it's merely decoration. Some of it is on my GitHub.

On the blog I write down what stays with me from work: architecture, lessons from projects, and now and then the question of why we build things the way we build them.

And when the screen stays off: travel, a good film, and as soon as the weather allows, the road belongs to the motorbike.
